Obama, Please Step Away from Gun Legislation December 2012

Obama's tripping in his rush to control American guns. Instead of empathizing with Americans, Obama has decided to try to divide US by throwing in the fishy red herring of gun control instead of finding ways to keep US and the world safe and free. This is the service for which many people voted for Obama. But instead, Obama has grabbed the hot wire of gun control, and seems determined to use this to distract US and the world from the real issues: We need to keep all kids in the world safe and free. We need to make sure all kids and their families and friends are safe and free.

Obama is failing. He gets an F. Here is an article that explains exactly why Obama has no business tinkering with the Bill of Rights.

Obama Cut Funds for School Security, So Obama Shifts Blame, Points Finger, Takes Aim to Shoot Up US Constitution and Bill of Rights Wednesday, December 19, 2012

When cowards and psychopaths kill, then people gather to discuss ways to end such suffering.
Rational people will gravely and calmly consider lawful and effective ways to restore peace to our lives.

Perhaps Obama is trying to shield himself and shift US from noticing that he cut funding for school security, and perhaps this action of Obama's is responsible for leaving children unprotected while Obama bails out the banks and takes aim at the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It's classic narcissism, to point the finger at innocent people when Obama himself is guilty of creating a sitution where the kids were killed.

Irrational people will cause trouble. Right now, instead of doing his job to keep America safe and free, Obama is drawing a line in the sand and stirring up the useless debate on gun control.

Right now, Americans want and need to know that they and their families have security and freedom. Americans will not give up one to have the other. Security and Freedom go hand in hand.
Americans deserve a better servant who lives in the White House because of US.
In our grief and anger, we need a servant to find solutions.
Our servant Obama is brushing aside the questions about psychotropic drugs, about the changes and inconsistencies in the "official" story, and about restoring the money for school security that he let slide!
During this time especially for children, We the People must have thoughtful and serious discussions about ways to make our lives safe and free for all. We must politely listen to people even if we disagree with them, and ask that they politely listen to us. Together we can find the answers.

Obama does not have the answer. We the People have the right and the responsibility to tell him and our servants in Congress what to do.

In this interview, America Moral Degenerate, Noam Chomsky discusses the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which ignores the laws of our land, the Consitution, the Bill of Rights, and human rights dating back to and before the Magna Carta.

Obama claims the power to detain any one he wants, and assassinate anyone he wants.
Many people who voted for Obama are in this position. Many of the people who voted for Obama don't keep up with news and don't know what the NDAA is. Or if they do know, then they often "trust" Obama.

Yet, the Founders designed a government that deliberately was not built on trust but on suspicion. The Founders set up a government to check human flaws. The argument goes that we are all children of Adam and Eve, and therefore we all have flaws. This tendency to human error is why the Constitution and Bill of Rights exist, based on the Medieval Magna Carta signed by the flawed King John, the enemy of the legendary Robin Hood. The British barons could no longer tolerate a chaotic government and forced John to sign the document.

So, the NDAA must go away, with the Patriot Act, and all the other petty tyrant scribblings and ravings, down into the trash bin of history.

We the People must take to heart this statement by George Washington:

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

The Founders knew this day would come. The chess game that is the Constitution and the tyrant tethering that is the Bill of Rights worked to check the people who tried to rule US. Now, We the People must face the situation we are in.

Hollywood Pirates : The Myth and the Dream for Better or Worse

Writer J. Dennis Robinson in his article "Why I Hate Fake Pirates" makes his case for the lack of authentic costume in Hollywood pirate films. Robinson begins with the Hollywood creation Captain Jack Sparrow from the Walt Disney studio. Then he travels back in time to the sources of pirate myth: Treasure Island by Robert Lewis Stevenson, Peter Pan by James M. Barrie, and The Book of Pirates by Howard Pyle, the artist and illustrator of countless pirate images projected onto the silver screen and television. Robinson puts the responsibility, or the blame, on these writers and their fictional characters who refused to stay on the page and leapt into the lives of children and their parents and guardians.

Robinson notes the effect that a babysitter's stories of adventures on the ocean can have on a child, who grew up to write Treasure Island in 1881.

Robinson outlines how children's fascination with pirates of legend such as Stevenson's Long John Silver was blended with the James M. Barrie fantasy creation Peter Pan.

Robinson concludes with the influence of artist and illustrator Howard Pyle (1853 to 1911). Pyle who describes himself as "a Quaker Gentleman in the Farm Lands of Pennsylvania," recreated the bold lives of pirates in thrilling and action-packed images. In his Book of Pirates, Pyle illustrates pirates through a filter of romance, engaging in smoking, drinking, wooing, sailing, dealing with treasure, fighting, and dying.

In this posting, as it discounts Mitt Romney, John Cusack sums up what's wrong with the Obama presidency, and the spectre of his re-election. Obama is a continuation of the Bush stealing, maiming, and killing, but with deadly quiet surrounding the war crimes and ignoring the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Early on November 13, 2010, John Tyner was planning to fly from California to South Dakota.
Tyner checked the San Diego International Airport website, which made no mention of Michael Chertoff's clients' radioactive machines.

Tyner was surprised to see the radioactive body scanners, and to receive a demand from TSA staff that Tyner submit to a body scan or be groped. This demand sparked a polite but firm rebellion. Tyner offered to go through the metal detector, but refused to submit to a radioactive body scan and refused to allow TSA staff to conduct a complete grope.

In Tyner's own words:
"I looked him straight in the eye and said, "if you touch my junk, I'll have you arrested." He, a bit taken aback, informed me that he would have to involve his supervisor because of my comment."

What followed contains more than a Keystone Cops scenario of TSA staff, supervisors, police, and assorted other staff trying to make up rules as they go, contradicting each other. First, the staff and administrators tell Tyner that he can't fly and must leave the airport. Then after some haggling, they run after him, tell him he must complete the grope down, and ultimately threatening Tyner with a $10,000 fine if he leaves, even though they just told him to leave.

What followed was pure fascism, a combination of business and government, in which a former government official used his influence to force his clients' products onto the American public, products that subject Americans and world travelers to unsafe levels of radiation (no level is safe) and subject Americans and world travelers to molestation by government staff as a condition for travel in America and the world today.

The Department of Homeland Security's Key Words for Searching for Terrorists

The Alexander Higgins' blog refers to Electronic Privacy Information Center's success in using the Freedom of Information Act to force open access to the Department of Homeland Security's list of words that they are seeking as being possible security threats. The DHS's vaguely named "Analyst's Desktop Binder" lists hundreds of words on 39 pages, as a guide to spying on people while looking for terrorists. Here is the list.

In the February 27, 2012 issue of Blacklisted News, journalist Noel Brinkerhoff notes that the US government is using a private contractor to seek out internet writing that critiques the Department of Homeland Security.

Documents obtained from the Freedom of Information Act, through the Electronic Privacy Information Center, or EPIC, show the involvement of the DHS's efforts to monitor free speech. Brinkerhoff provides links to the various agencies and documents.

Thomas Jefferson's First Inaugural Address was given on Wednesday, March 4, 1801. In this speech, Jefferson outlined the "essential" principles of our Government..." as the "bright constellation."

  "About to enter, fellow-citizens, on the exercise of duties which comprehend everything dear and valuable to you, it is proper you should understand what I deem the essential principles of our Government, and consequently those which ought to shape its Administration. I will compress them within the narrowest compass they will bear, stating the general principle, but not all its limitations.

• Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political;
• peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none;
• the support of the State governments in all their rights, as the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns and the surest bulwarks against antirepublican tendencies;
• the preservation of the General Government in its whole constitutional vigor, as the sheet anchor of our peace at home and safety abroad;
• a jealous care of the right of election by the people—a mild and safe corrective of abuses which are lopped by the sword of revolution where peaceable remedies are unprovided;
• absolute acquiescence in the decisions of the majority, the vital principle of republics, from which is no appeal but to force, the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism;
• a well disciplined militia, our best reliance in peace and for the first moments of war, till regulars may relieve them;

Benjamin Franklin's Warning of the Dangers of Joining Power and Money

Benjamin Franklin gave this warning at the Constitutional Convention, Philadelphia, 1787.
His speech is reproduced and titled "Dangers of a Salaried Bureaucracy" on bartleby.com, Franklin warned that paying a salary to the U.S. President would sow the seeds of tyranny.
If We the People want to avoid the terrible fate of tyranny and slavery, we must avoid the recipe for tyrants, and keep money and power separate.
Below is an excerpt from Franklin's speech.

Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence in the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice—the love of power and the love of money. Separately, each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but, when united in view of the same object, they have, in many minds, the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men a post of honor, that shall, at the same time, be a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it. The vast number of such places it is that renders the British government so tempestuous. The struggles for them are the true source of all those factions which are perpetually dividing the nation, distracting its councils, hurrying it sometimes into fruitless and mischievous wars, and often compelling a submission to dishonorable terms of peace.	2
And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable preeminence, through all the bustle of cabal, the heat of contention, the infinite mutual abuse of parties, tearing to pieces the best of characters? Besides these evils, sir, tho we may set out in the beginning with moderate salaries, we shall find that such will not be of long continuance. Hence, as all history informs us, there has been in every state and kingdom a constant kind of warfare between the governing and the governed; the one striving to obtain more for its support, and the other to pay less. Generally, indeed, the ruling power carries its point, and we see the revenues of princes constantly increasing, and we see that they are never satisfied, but always in want of more. The more the people are discontented with the oppression of taxes, the greater need the prince has of money to distribute among his partizans, and pay the troops that are to suppress all resistance, and enable him to plunder at pleasure. There is scarce a king in a hundred who would not, if he could, follow the example of Pharaoh—get first all the people’s money, then all their lands, and then make them and their children servants for ever.

Greetings.
On this day, Wednesday, January 11, 2012, there is news that the North Pole has shifted to Siberia.
Dutch Since [Sincedutch] presents graphics documenting a pole shift, leading to warmer temperatures in the area of the United States, and apparently changing the equator.

While we all can use a break from our energy heating bills, changing the North Pole seems a drastict step, whatever the cause.

Bilbo Baggins, 111th Birthday, Martinmas and November 11th

J.R.R. Tolkien begins his trilogy The Lord of the Rings, with Bilbo Baggins' 111st birthday party celebration. Readers wonder why Tolkien chose 111.

J.R.R. Tolkien's story of hobbits, elves, dwarves and men, dealing with the Ring of Power, starts with the birthday celebrations of Bilbo Baggins and his nephew, Frodo. Bilbo is 111 and Frodo is 33. Tolkien himself steered clear of allegories, and thought of his book as an example of "applicability." Nevertheless, readers often seek for meaning in Bilbo's age, one hundred and eleventy years old.

Musings on Biblical Numerology of 111

The article "Biblical Numerology in the Birthday Part of Bilbo and Frodo: 111 and 33," and credited to Quirino M. Sugon, includes a quote from "The Long Expected Party."

"Bilbo was going to be eleventy-one, 111, a rather curious number, and a very respectable age for a hobbit (the Old Took himself had only reaced 130); and Frodo was going to be thirty three, 33, an important number: the date of his ‘coming of age’. (Fellowship of the Ring, p. 22)

Sugon explores possible meanings that Tolkien might have intended. One of Sugon's ideas, seen through a Christian lens, considers the numerology of Lucifer. If Lucifer tries to be greater than God, and uses the number 666, then the number 111 could stand for Bilbo's realization that he is a simple hobbit, not great or a god.

Sugon also looks at Frodo's age of 33, the Hobbit coming of age, at the same as Christ's coming of age and teaching. From a number standpoint, Sugon, by adding 111 to 33 arrives at 144, a number metioned in the Fellowship of the Ring. Sugon considers that 12 x 12 = 144, and explores the number 12 as representing the 12 apostles or 12 sons of Jacob.

Another of Sugon's thoughts is that the repetition of 111 echos the rhyme about the One Ring's three purposes: to rule them all, find them, and bind them in darkness.

Musings on War and the Number 111

Tolkien's experiences during World War I poured out into Lord of the Rings. As noted in the National Geographic documentary, Beyond the Movie, Tolkien was devastated by the horrors of war and the loss of his friends. The Battle of the Somme began on July 1, 1916, with Britain losing almost 60,000 soldiers that first day.

The battle dragged out almost five months, ending November 18. Over a million soldiers died, part of the battlefield filled with rotting corpses. It was in the battlefield trenches that Tolkien began Lord of the Rings. The warscape that Tolkien witnessed resurfaced in the Dead Marshes and Mordor.

Bilbo announces his one hundred and eleventieth birthday. The number 11 does show up in Tolkien's war experiences. Tolkien was linked with the 11th Lancashire Fusiliers, many of whom died in 1916.

World War I officially ended on November 11th, 1918, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

This timeline had been adapted from the feast of Saint Martin (316 to 397/400 A.D.). Martin, originally a soldier, became known as patron saint of conscientious objectors due to his rejection of war. Saint Martin's feast day celebrations often began at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

Tolkien Disliked Allegories

In the forward to The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien is on record as disliking allegories. "I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifiestations, and always have done since I grew old and wary enough to detect its presence." In this case, Tolkien dismisses the notion that he used the one-to-one linking equations of allegory in his writing. Instead, Tolkien allows for "applicabilty," of the reader's bringing ideas to a story, and enriching the story in this way.

"I think that many confuse 'applicability' with 'allegory'; but the one resides in the freedom of the reader, and the other in the purposed domination of the author."

Readers may never totally understand the numerical choices Tolkien made for Bilbo's birthday. But readers will understand that Tolkien intended for readers to use their freedom in applying their thoughts and ideas about Bilbo's 111th birthday.
